Grocery deals 12/29

Posted by: WoodElves / Category: , ,

We didn't get a picture of yesterday's grocery deals, since we were tired and hungry when we got home. Earlier in the week, we grabbed a half gallon of milk at the gas station on our way into town.

Here's a rundown from yesterday, I'm doing this from memory:

Farm Fresh

We got about 3+lbs of boneless skinless chicken - about $7
2 small steaks - about $4
a can of mushrooms - $1
Bumble Bee tuna - free
Softsoap hand soap - free
2 bags of Krunchers chips - $2
2 boxes of Celestial Seasonings tea - $1.80
State Fair corn dogs - $1.20
2 naval oranges - $2

Our total came to $19.91 - just under budget. Before coupons, the total was about $31.

CVS

David and I each got a bottle of Tone body wash, sale price $3.88 and you get back $3 ECBs. We had two $1/1 coupons to make a small money maker.
David' s bottle was on clearance for $2.49!

I also got a 12-pack of Charmin for $3, which I paid for with my ECBs.

Total OOP (tax) was 88 cents. I have $7.79 left in ECBs now and David has $5.79.

Free Lipstick!!

Posted by: WoodElves / Category: ,

This week at CVS, certain Revlon products, including lipstick, are on sale for $6.99 and you get $5 ECBs back. There is a $2/1 lustrous lipstick coupon HERE which will make them free. However, when I went to my CVS, I found several of the lipsticks with $2/1 peelies on them! The best part of this is that there is a limit of 6 per CVS card! As you can see, I got 6 different shades to try. If I don't like one, I didn't waste anything by trying it out! Tax around here was about 35 cents each stick.

This week at CVS

We left CVS with these items - 3 shampoos, 1 conditioner, 1 moisturizer and 2 birthday cards - and spent $0 out of pocket. We paid with $8 ECBs and left with $6 ECBs. :)

More-Than-Free Tampons at CVS

Posted by: WoodElves / Category: , ,

Nobody likes paying money for things like tampons. The good news is that you don't have to. I believe that almost all non-prescription items you would usually get from a pharmacy can be found free at some point. This includes toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, lotion, toilet paper, etc.

Enough of that - on to how to get Kotex tampons at CVS this week and make $2 doing it.

This week, you get $4.99 in Extra Care Bucks when you buy the new U By Kotex liners, pads or tampons at $4.99. There is a limit of 1 per CVS card.

Use the U By Kotex manufacturer's coupon HERE

AND

the U By Kotex CVS coupon HERE

You CAN USE BOTH COUPONS together since one is a store coupon and one is manufacturer.

So you will buy 1 tampon at $4.99
-$1 store coupon
-$1 manufacturer's coupon
Pay $2.99 out of pocket
Get back $4.99 Extra Care Bucks on your receipt to use for your next purchase at CVS. If you already have ECBs to roll, it makes it an even better deal. If you haven't started with ECBs yet, now is a good time to start!

Now, who's heading to CVS this week?!

(Thanks, Southern Savers!)

PS - while you're on the U By Kotex website, be sure to request their free sample. I got a package with a few pads and tampons in the mail.

Rite Aid & CVS matchups

Posted by: WoodElves / Category: , ,

I decided to not keep it to myself how to do the makeup deal at Rite Aid & the Nivea deal at CVS which you can see HERE.

It's pretty easy. I got all the coupons for these deals from my RedPlum. If you're not sure where to get a RedPlum in your area, you can check HERE.

There was a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Cover Girl Face Makeup coupon in the RedPlum last week. Rite Aid has all Cover Girl makeup on sale this week for B1G1 as well. The Rite Aid corporate coupon policy clearly states that you can use B1G1 coupons with B1G1 sales to get both free. I had a little trouble at the store but I had a copy of the policy in my hand and they couldn't argue with it.

All this makeup also helped me to reach the amount I needed for the Proctor & Gamble coupon rebate. The deal with that is if you spend $50 in P&G products between 2/1/10 and 5/31/10, you can submit your receipts and they will send you a coupon book with $100 worth of coupons. It's not as good as a regular rebate, but between the free makeup and the deal I did at Farm Fresh the other day, I ended up with $50 in P&G products without even trying. You can find more information about the rebate HERE.

At CVS this week, if you spend $15 in Nivea products before coupons, you get a $5 ECB back on your receipt. This week there was a $4/1 Nivea women's body wash coupon in the RedPlum as well as $3/1 Nivea men's body wash and $1/1 Nivea lip care. The body wash is $4.88 this week and we got the $3.99 lip care (though later at the checkout I saw some $2.99 varieties).

I used two of the $4/1 coupons and a B1G1 lip care coupon from awhile ago to do the deal. There are many different combinations of products & coupons you can do, depending on what coupons you have. You just have to reach $15 in products before coupons and then figure out which coupons you want to use to get the lowest out of pocket price.

If that is too complicated, just take the $4/1 coupons to Rite Aid, Walmart, or Target this week, since they have the Nivea on sale for $4 and you can get it free. That is what I should have done - it's simpler. :)

CVS freebies - no coupons needed

Posted by: WoodElves / Category: , , ,

There are a couple of things you won't want to miss if you have a CVS card. These are simple deals that you don't need any coupons for.

The first is a free 4x6 photo magnet. This will be free after the promotion code if you have it shipped to your CVS and pick it up. I'm not sure how long this deal is good for.

1. Go to this website: http://dealseekingmom.com/photodeals/cvs
2. Search for "Photo magnet"
3. Upload your picture
4. Go to checkout - select "Pick up in store"
5. Enter promotion code
FREE4MOM
6. You will have to enter your CVS card number and your credit card, but your credit card is just for verification and will not be charged.
7. You will get an email when your magnet is available to pick up in store.

The second is free sunscreen.

If you buy 2 CVS brand sunscreens this week (end 5/1/10), a $5 ECB will print out. This also works on the small size which is $2.19 each. David and I each got 2 sunscreens so paid $4.40 and got $5 ECB back. We paid mostly with ECBs we already had, so we paid $1.40 out of pocket and got back $10 ECB.

Of course, don't do this deal if you don't already have ECBs and don't need sunscreen, since you will have to pay out of pocket. We were already on the lookout for free sunscreen since we live by the beach.
