Rite Aid

It's a fantastic week at Rite Aid this week. We spent $15.34 and are getting $15 back in rebates. (There were 2 Lysol wipes but we left one in the car). I can't believe 40 loads of Purex is included in this! I love how good it makes my clothes smell :) I got all my matchups from Southern Savers HERE.

Neutrogena is running a rebate this week where you can try their $35 Clinical Night, SPF or Eye for free after rebate. I got mine yesterday, and the stuff feels so good on my skin! You can get the rebate HERE.
There used to be a $5 coupon which makes it a money maker, but the coupon is no longer available on their website. However, if you go to Rite Aid to get it, be sure to take a $5 off of $25 coupon with you. You'll also get $2 UP+ rewards if you use your Rite Aid card. Furthermore, you can submit it for Single Check Rebate #15 to get a free $10 Rite Aid gift card back. However, David was unable to find this product in our Rite Aid store here. You may have better luck - and end up with a $17 moneymaker!

Today's post is going to be a little bit more random than most. We're going to get to the deals soon, but first I wanted to show off the delicious crab quiche that David made for dinner last night:
Doesn't it look good? Well, it is. I have to take a little bit of the credit for making the crust, but I'm sure he woulda done it if I hadn't beat him to it ;)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I used some leftover crust dough and the good parts left of some going-rotten cherries to make a few mini cherry pies for dessert, and just had to add a little flair:
Now I know most of you don't prefer the word "mini" to precede the word "cherry pie", but I like to make these little guys sometimes for portion control and cute things just seem to taste better.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Now on to the deals David did today. We're liking Rite Aid's new +UP program, which is almost exactly like CVS' Extra Care Bucks. The best part is that so far there is no limit to the deals, so it goes like this:
1. Spend $3.50 on 2 body washes (after B1G1 coupon).
2. Get $4 +UP rewards back.
3. Use it to pay for another 2 body washes & some Raamen noodles (or candy bars) as fillers.
4. Repeat.
We also used some of the +UP rewards to buy some cards we needed.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The next picture is my favorite deal ever. You see, we haven't paid for anything in this picture below:
This is just a picture of our current free sample stash. Most of these products we got in the mail simply by requesting them. As you can see, it really adds up. If you think requesting freebies is a waste of time, just consider how many weeks/months David and I could go just on using up the body wash from our freebie stash. Talk about savings! Oh - and if you ever want to come visit, we're more than happy to share from any of our stashes. :)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Lastly, I just wanted to make a confession. You have to promise you won't a) laugh at me or b) tell anyone. I suppose it could be a little embarrassing.
You see, I've found out that if I just visit the recycle drop-off once a week, I'll never have to pay for a Sunday paper again. I don't think rooting through huge dirty recycle bins with tons of empty beer bottles is David's favorite marriage-building activity, but in just a minute or two of looking around (and not digging too deep) we're able to find a few coupon inserts that will later on score us lots of good deals. To me, it's worth the little bit of time and the few drops of hand sanitizer. :)
That's it for me today. You may have noticed that today's post didn't have any pictures of us, but I'm sure that in any picture taken of me this week, I would probably have looked a little frazzled if not downright glaring. It's been one of those weeks at work, but hopefully I'm prepared enough for open enrollment. That's when all 500 of our employees choose what benefits they want for the following year, and I'm in charge of organizing all of the people and paperwork. We'll find out how I survive it next week! Stay tuned!

Coupons,
CVS,
Rite Aid
I decided to not keep it to myself how to do the makeup deal at Rite Aid & the Nivea deal at CVS which you can see HERE.
It's pretty easy. I got all the coupons for these deals from my RedPlum. If you're not sure where to get a RedPlum in your area, you can check HERE.
There was a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Cover Girl Face Makeup coupon in the RedPlum last week. Rite Aid has all Cover Girl makeup on sale this week for B1G1 as well. The Rite Aid corporate coupon policy clearly states that you can use B1G1 coupons with B1G1 sales to get both free. I had a little trouble at the store but I had a copy of the policy in my hand and they couldn't argue with it.
All this makeup also helped me to reach the amount I needed for the Proctor & Gamble coupon rebate. The deal with that is if you spend $50 in P&G products between 2/1/10 and 5/31/10, you can submit your receipts and they will send you a coupon book with $100 worth of coupons. It's not as good as a regular rebate, but between the free makeup and the deal I did at Farm Fresh the other day, I ended up with $50 in P&G products without even trying. You can find more information about the rebate HERE.
At CVS this week, if you spend $15 in Nivea products before coupons, you get a $5 ECB back on your receipt. This week there was a $4/1 Nivea women's body wash coupon in the RedPlum as well as $3/1 Nivea men's body wash and $1/1 Nivea lip care. The body wash is $4.88 this week and we got the $3.99 lip care (though later at the checkout I saw some $2.99 varieties).
I used two of the $4/1 coupons and a B1G1 lip care coupon from awhile ago to do the deal. There are many different combinations of products & coupons you can do, depending on what coupons you have. You just have to reach $15 in products before coupons and then figure out which coupons you want to use to get the lowest out of pocket price.
If that is too complicated, just take the $4/1 coupons to Rite Aid, Walmart, or Target this week, since they have the Nivea on sale for $4 and you can get it free. That is what I should have done - it's simpler. :)

We paid $2.16 for these things between Rite Aid & CVS, which was really just the price of tax. That's a lot of makeup!
